The first information about mead appeared in ancient Rome. It was a mixture of bitter wine flavoured with honey. The original name comes from the Gaelic language of the Celts - metheglin. It means drink that cures. In turn, the English term for a "honeymoon", arises from the fact that the newlyweds drank mead, so they had a son.
And honey is honey. The base course of mead is honey and then pure water. Additionally, yeast may be used which will affect the final flavour and alcohol content of the mead. During fermentation, it is appropriate to pour the fluid into another container about once every three to six weeks. After the end of fermentation, the mead is decanted into bottles.
